NDAs, Non-Disclosure Agreements, threaten press freedom, but it seems defending Billionaires like Sir Green overrides any commitment to democracy. Spending $640,000 apparently buys Sir Green a personal court-backed dictatorship and the right to censor the free press.
Where should socialists stand? With NDAs and billionaires or with the democratic right to a free press? Is it really a strong position to argue that allegations cannot be reported on in the media because they have not been tried in court? Should not the negative press produced by such allegations induce certain staffing changes in response? I’m not expecting any written response, but at least let these questions have some impact besides the normal feelings of resignation and indifference.
