1. Israel should divide Lieberman’s party, giving the Left reformists an opportunity to form their own government apart from Likkud. A unity government would be a racist government designed specifically to exclude the Joint List. In general, and as a rule, Centrist parties like Lieberman’s should be temporarily broken in order to give the party with a plurality the majority wherever possible. After the government is formed, the Centrist parties should be freed to reform themselves. This preserves democracy in that Centrist parties only blur the lines and prevent clear positions from emerging as the unifying strategy of the democracy.

2. Colombia has recognized Venezuela’s Juan Guaido and repudiated Nicolas Maduro as legitimate leader of Venezuela. In return, Maduro should recognize FARC, ELN, and other dissident groups, Gaitanistas, as the legitimate leaders of Colombia. This would provide Venezuela with a strong argument and a balance of power in negotiations. Otherwise, they allow their leader to be deposed or openly conspired against without taking the necessary steps to defend him. The mystery of why Juan Guaido’s actions have not constituted treason and led to charges being brought remains unsolved.
