The SEP commits a very serious error by abstaining from participation in the national strike movement of Colombia. Democratic Power has made repeated appeals with the idea of preparing an intervention to gain a following for the WSWS among the strikers and demonstrators. These appeals have met a wall of silence, with the exception of a short exchange with Dan Conway beginning at the end of December 2020. As the silent killer, Covid-19, has proven, the silent danger could really prove the most frightening. The SEP must make a concerted effort to confront directly and smash resoundingly the serial dumbness of political exile without due process. Democratic Power can provide on-sight coverage of the strike as well as distribute a statement on behalf of the SEP and the WSWS to form a nucleus for a future Colombian party.
