The writer of this “exposure” completely forgot that the UN legitimized the WMD claims by sending in Weapons Inspectors and demanding complete compliance from Iraq. Now, the UN, acting through its agency, the WHO, legitimizes the claim that the virus could not have a laboratory origin. The media confuses this further, arguing that it could only have a laboratory origin if it was not leaked deliberately in Wuhan, as long as it was not transported to Wuhan from elsewhere, as long as it was not by a spy who had access to a list of scientists working at the lab. Any attempt to prove that the virus has arisen from a biological weapons program rather than from a vaccine research program meets a stone wall of irrationality. This difference in shades of opinion discovered and presented by the WSWS writer allows them to completely ignore China’s argument that the virus originated elsewhere and someone intentionally introduced it in Wuhan.

If both China and the US have simple-minded “conspiracy theorists” as leaders, then certainly there’s no threat from imperialism. If everything the WSWS assumes is true, then a rational argument to set things straight is the only thing lacking! Biden and Jinping can meet and settle this and every other issue. No need to organize any victories for the working class! Clearly the WSWS has gone too far into caricature territory when replacing rational argument with slander.
