Jeffrey Epstein linked Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, supposed opposites on the political spectrum. Jamal Khashoggi stood between Osama bin Laden and the Saudi Monarchy, two factions of the Saudi government divided over the issue of American military bases on Saudi Arabian soil. These two figures’ deaths shined a spotlight on the two factions, revealing that they have more in common than they publicly admit. It also shows that in both cases, the struggle against the two factions are, in fact, inseparable.

The struggle against tyranny and for democratic rights depends on the struggle against the allies of the American empire. It also depends on the struggle against terrorism aimed at the people, terrorism aimed at excluding them from participation in any constructive political dynamic. Tyranny and terror do not represent opposite but united parts of the political system that work together to sabotage the legitimate political movements of the people.

The struggle against the oligarchy represented by Trump depends upon a political program that prioritizes the interests of the working class. It also depends on the struggle against the reformist capitalist politicians that keep the people subdued with false promises. This does not just mean Clinton, Obama, and Biden, but also Bernie Sanders and AOC who, while promising to offer an alternative, always support a vote for the same Clinton, Obama, and Biden. Reformism and oligarchy do not represent opposite but united parts of the political system that, taken together, subdue the people and force them to accept the political whips of wage slavery and oligarchic rule.
