The impunity with which rapists stalk the street could only occur with complicity from the state as part of a definite political agenda. The WSWS meticulously ignores the history of prosecutors throwing out rape cases with mountains of evidence. This standpoint in defense of rape, stalking, and abuse, as well as what should be seen as false arrest in an obvious self-defense case, this defense of a highly politicized justice system proves which social class the nano-bureaucracy stands with. We should not demand “due process” an illusion used to prop up the government, but instead we need to demand collective punishment for the capitalist class as well as its criminal state agents. The fact that a uniformed officer must perform this rape-work, we should see as a signal of the weakness of the capitalist system and the isolation of the capitalist class. What they lack in strength and popularity, they make up for in cruel oppression and systematic violence. The working class and the working poor in particular must seek to fight back against the capitalist class itself under the leadership of a real revolutionary movement, rather than allow the state to divide them and force false leaders upon them.
