“There is not a scrap of Marxism in any approach to class which does not have class conflict at its core.”

The ICFI has not explained how factional tyranny serves to represent the working class. Clearly a system designed to suppress debate over important topics benefits the middle class and the ruling class at the expense of the working class. With debate as a principle suppressed, we have the journalistic equivalent of a shouting match, with the larger marketing budget reaching the wider audience. This does not, however, address much less suppress the underlying class conflict, which continues outside the “conscious perspective” of the party’s nano-bureaucracy. The workers’ tactics in the class conflict within the party depend upon a common program based on the thousand strings that tie it to the people. To cut off debate within the revolutionary party is to cut off these thousand strings and officially settles the debate on the side of the government and the ruling class. This official settlement between the government and the nano-bureaucracy only forces the workers actively engaged in the class conflict to turn against the bureaucracy, sabotaging Marxist unity between the working class and its party and giving strength to the reaction. Democratic Power can organize this conscious opposition to class compromise in preparation for a return to free debate within the party.
