Massacres and the Objective Capitalist Need for Concentration Camps

The massacre of 19 people at Camargo of January 22, perpetrated by 12 Mexican police, shows the lengths with which the economic system of the US depends on forcing population flows in and out of the US. While the officers involved have been detained, they acted as pawns in the interests of the imperialists who seek to force migrants into and out of the United States. The more recent prison riot in Ecuador, in which an estimated 118 prisoners died, follows another February 24th massacre earlier this year that took place in three separate cities simultaneously. Rather than provide social programs to lift people from poverty or provide legitimate employment, the Ecuadorian authority must shepherd the population through drug gangs, into over-crowded prisons, and then into massacres so as to force the population to leave their own country.

The rate at which drug gangs can kill the poor in South and Central America currently outpaces the rate at which the U.S. authority can kill migrants. This continues to put pressure on the destitute to seek work at great personal risk north of the border. In July, migration increased to a 21-year high. The U.S. will have to respond by building concentration camps to house the migrants, and once these camps fill up and number into the hundreds of thousands or millions, they will need to create a balance of pressure by systematically killing camp prisoners. Apprehensions without deportations have increased to 53% in July from 7% a year ago. Only the full opening of the borders and the formation of international social programs to assist the poor in all countries, however poor, can halt the imprisonment and destruction of human life for the profit motive. Until then, the severity of the murders will only increase as the financial collapse of the US republic, organized to satisfy the needs of the oligarchy, leads to more open forms of imperialism.
