Shipping prices have shot up four times higher than before the pandemic. Shortages of basic goods will remain a part of the economy at least through the end of 2022. Low prices, which must rise 80% to match the excess cash produced by quantitative easing, side by side with shortages prove that the capitalist system cannot make adjustments to return to a growth cycle. The pandemic served as an excuse for a sharp decline in economic activity, but as the pandemic wears on, the failure clearly appears rooted in the private profit system. The American people must overcome the bias against socialism and prepare for war against the oligarchy as they prepare ever more brutal state methods of suppressing the revolutionary movement of the working class. The minimum wage must rise immediately to three times the current rate and rise automatically with inflation in order to provide a living wage to all workers.
