  1. The number of strikes and the subsequent betrayal by the official unions will lead to a massive radicalization of the working class.
  2. Workers will come into contact with the WSWS and the SEP as their first introduction to Marxism.
  3. The workers will criticize the work of the WSWS and SEP as anti-worker and anti-political. Anti-worker in that it prevents free discussion and participation for the advanced workers. Anti-political in that it breaks up campaigns and local chapters on the basis of a power struggle within the central chapters and nano-bureaucracy.
  4. The workers will criticize the political program of the WSWS and SEP. They will search for wealth caps, inheritance bans, and other universal limitations on personal wealth. They will search for protections for the democratic rights of workers within their own organizations, especially with regard to their rights to workers’ councils and revolutionary political parties.
  5. The workers will criticize the leadership and the character of the leaders of the WSWS and SEP. They will want factions and a legal, democratic process by which they can replace leaders.
  6. The workers will demand and win the right to form official factions and a factional democracy.
  7. Unofficial factions, such as Democratic Power or any faction organized by any other group claiming to be Trotskyist will gain access as official factions, as long as they abide by the rules governing factions within the party.
  8. Official factions will then seek to gain influence among the membership in anticipation of a Party Convention or a Party Congress to establish political program, organizational rules, work policies, and leadership.
  9. The workers will use their influence over the party to favor Democratic Power, its proposals and its chosen leadership for the party.
  10. As Democratic Power gains important positions within the party, the workers’ movement as a whole will make gains within society, preparing the way for the party to take the power in a revolutionary confrontation with the government. The pressures from the collapse of the imperialist strategy, the failure of the economy, and the economic demands of the working class, whether consciously revolutionary or simply in the struggle for self-preservation, will combine to force the government to accept the legitimate opinions and strategy of the workers’ councils.
  11. Only under the leadership of the SEP and the SEP under the leadership of Democratic Power will take all the power for the workers’ councils on behalf of the people. The new government, with a reorganized military under their command and the free elections of the people secured, will then have to fight the defenders of the old, plutocratic order.
