The large number of soldiers participating in the January 6th protests show that a significant part of the military no longer considers the government legitimate or responsible enough to give orders. Trapping this rebellion on the right makes it ineffective, as the right only wants to defend privilege and policies to satisfy the needs of capitalism and private profit for the ruling class. These motives are the source of the incompetence and failure of the current government.

The right also wants a more stable domestic order in which it can go to war or commit atrocities without the consent of the general population. Such a rebellion will only betray the demands of the rank and file soldiers. Only a unity between the striking workers and the rebellious soldiers can create the foundation for a new government that bases itself on the will of the people and the empowerment of the people. The soldiers should reject further attempts at taking the capital, except as part of a general strike by the workers aiming to transfer power to independently organized Workplace Safety and Equality Committees.
