Scientists working on Gain of Function research on viruses use the same techniques as those developing xenotransplantation, a means of growing and harvesting human organs from pigs in order to perform life saving surgeries, bypassing the shortage of human organ donations. The WSWS threatens establishment scientists, calling them “conspiracy theorists”, in order to cut off funding for vital research, in line with a political argument developed by Pentagon contractor Peter Daszak, their discredited source for Covid-19 “science”, or more precisely conflict-of-interest jargon. The WSWS must confess immediately to suppression of debate and offer a front page apology to the scientific community. Without a principled defense of freedom for scientific research and debate, the revolutionary party will lose legitimacy in the minds of intellectuals everywhere. All respectable journalism and science has refuted the lie and abandoned the line of argument that society must brand the investigators of lab origins for the virus in a violent manner to suppress science and eliminate oversight of government funded research. Such branding efforts merit an immediate and powerful response to brand these journalists as dangerous demagogues who must not have access to a wide audience such as that of the WSWS.
