The shooter who killed ten people in a supermarket sought to draw attention to the theory of “White Genocide”, the idea that white people will be replaced by non-whites at work and in their homes. The WSWS bares primary political responsibility for this assault, since they have consistently argued that the revolutionary movement should not get involved in Black Lives Matters (#BLM) or protests against racial discrimination and oppression. This gives defenders of the government unchallenged power within #BLM, creating a purely racialist debate that completely excludes socialist theory. The genocide of native Americans, the slavery of African Americans, and the “White Genocide” are inseparable from the defense of class society, the legal and organized exploitation of labor for the profits of a privileged class. The ruling class divided the working class by favoring one class over another and using the other to break strikes. This turned into slavery and genocide partly because of the politics of division, but more so because of the need for ever greater levels of exploitation under capitalism. Marx wrote in Capital, Vol. 1, Ch. 10, Sect. 7, “In the United States of North America, every independent movement of the workers was paralysed so long as slavery disfigured a part of the Republic. Labour cannot emancipate itself in the white skin where in the black it is branded.” How long will the WSWS attack and paralyze every independent movement of the workers, every Marxist call for equality, while calling itself socialist and Marxist?

Marx’s Capital describes a sort of genocide in England through the employment of children in the mills. This occurred around the same time as the Irish Famine. He did this not so that the history of the mills should be denied but so that people should forever talk about the horrors of the capitalist system even in advanced England. The same should apply to the Holodomor, which the WSWS denies in contradiction to clear evidence. That should remind us that Stalinism too, participated in these excesses as they sought initiation among the imperialists, i.e. to form a closer relationship with the Weimar Republic and the Nazis, as well as the UK and the US, with their eugenicists, Jim Crow politicians, and Jim Crow lawyers. The Nanobureaucracy seeks to keep revolutionary arguments from the masses of people participating with #BLM, such as with the George Floyd protests, the largest in US history.

Democratic Power holds the same position against the ICFI as the Trotskyist movement held against the Soviet Union. Only the forceful removal of the ICFI leadership and their replacement by a fair debate and election organized among the membership, only such a political revolution can establish factional democracy, a key principle of the Left Opposition, the original organization of the Trotskyist movement.
