Part 1

This is from the Promote function. You can see in the picture above, “cmkshama joined the…” has 8,664 impressions from the Ad. When I click on the tweet, however, it says it has just 186 views! Then I click on Tweet Analytics button, and it shows 179 impressions! It claims only 1 of these impressions comes from the promotion. So we have 3 different numbers reported, which should all be the same!

Part 2

After attempting to promote a second Tweet, I ran into the same problems I had under the old Twitter Ads system.

The new promotion feature creates the same limitations as before. By having #shadowbanned promotions, Twitter effectively silenced opinions about important issues without reporting its actions. It claims only to follow policy, but it does not explain the politically motivated glitches.
