In general, when one Marxist takes the power from another, that is still a Marxist taking the power. That Marxist must use Marxist arguments as well, giving power to Marxism everywhere. If democracy cannot defend itself within the Marxist movement, that makes taking the power more difficult but not impossible. If Democratic Power cannot remove the old leadership to make room for new leaders through the force of intellectual debate, some other more violent form of Marxism will take it upon itself to complete the task.
