This book disproves the Russian chauvinist theory of the WSWS. The Fourth International must disprove the Russian chauvinist theory to enable the workers to rise to power through the Fourth International organization replacing the old state with a new one. The emancipation of the working class in the US will not come from Putin’s army but from an independent working class party. Pankhurst’s writing on the Dreadnaught proves that Lenin had allies, Marxists who controlled newspapers and parties throughout Europe and Europe did not have to accept a revolution in Russia alone. This decision was made by the Bolsheviks in a separate deal with imperialism, both protecting capitalism in Russia and allowing for the execution and isolation of Marxist leaders everywhere.

Those Marxist allies needed to overrule Lenin on the Brest-Litovsk treaty, the use of secret police against the democratically elected workers’ committees, and the decision to ban the organization of factions to effect policy changes through mass movements. They did attempt to overrule Lenin, but Trotsky’s Fourth International then attempted to hide these disagreements as a means of securing his self-destructive partnership with Stalin to defend his own position at the top of the new state and the Comintern. Defenders of real Marxist theory such as Luxemburg, Pankhurst, and others did argue at Congresses and in the press, but a lack of a real new International like Lenin’s Third International with real power over its leadership prevented the Communists from organizing anything but the assassination of Lenin rather than the actual reversal of the early autocratic police measures that led to Stalinism. If we kill the new Lenin after the next revolution, that will only lead to the rise of a new Stalin. A real International with the power to replace its leader and his leading faction using the leader of another faction will prevent the breakdown of party and class relations that led to the degeneration of the Bolshevik state.
