Your arguments reveal a problem in your basic philosophy of Marxism. What you describe, a supposed “agent” war, is pure fantasy. We believe in limited authority, a whithering away of the state. A Ukrainian is a Ukrainian and a Russian is a Russian. Whatever orders they receive from their respective governments or the other side are limited in scope and cannot interfere in their political work for the Fourth International. That political work must come first and their allegiance to a temporary imperialist authority cannot last since they can already see their governments failing. If an intelligence agent were to “infiltrate,” our legal party, this would have the illegal purpose of coercing illegal acts and forcing our legal faction to act illegally. We could use the legal system to respond to that threat. If we are speaking about illegal activity, then we can assume the civilian police is already aware and has detectives among us. Otherwise, the agent would be outnumbered and overruled in any case. Our crowd would be physically taking the power through the establishment of an illegal force that would pardon itself after the fact, like Trump’s Jan. 6 soldiers. So the best course of action is really to allow Russian and Ukrainian comrades to work together as much as possible and not allow “agent-baiting” to interfere with the legitimate work of the party, which is sorely needed in that part of the world. Unity between our Russian and Ukrainian comrades can form a foundation for a new government that overthrows all imperialist relations throughout Eastern and Southern Europe.
