Note to Schaefer. Notes on Schaefer.

Note to Shaefer. You are going through a very rough patch of road, meaning you have to switch to low gear, and take it slow. However, it would not be so psychologically stable to turn on your past ten years of hard work and dedication. You cannot continue at the same breakneck speed, as that would be a danger to yourself and others. The goal you set for yourself, to provide the workers’ revolution with a competent, professional leadership will not disappear from the map, but will continue to draw leaders and the masses to its magnetic pole.

In my opinion, you should step back, continue with the writing projects you select for yourself, and pursue within the party a lasting justice, in the form of a significant payment that could be used as an endowment for a loyalist faction. This money could be used to form a stabilizing faction that would fight deviancy and unprofessionalism from among the new recruits to national committee members, establishing constitutional rights in the process. This is the real difference of opinion which led to your assault and forced retreat, as proven by your argument with L (I.7.). Your past 10 years were not stolen. You are not he only one that values your own effort.

Notes on schaefer.

Part I.

1. Presentation cancelled last minute.
2. No response to emails or phone calls.
3. Since 2010, all questions must be answered for one’s self.
4. Demand for secrecy from (S.? Stilk maintaining secrecy??), aka Non-Disclosure Agreement.
5. Technical communication problems engineered to prevent participation in meetings.
6. Shouting after medical procedure at bleeding patient.
7. Discussions with L. prove differences of opinion did not preclude membership. The fundamentak disagreement wih Marxism lay elsewhere, someone still in the party, not wih Schaefer. The party bureaucracy or Marxism? The bureaucracy? That is an open realignnent of the party in favor of Stalinism and Pabloism.
8. Sabotage of 2016 election campaign using illegal underage candidate.
9. Who is S? Who is X? Are they he same person?
10. “Come under alien class forces.”
11. Loss of parents, marriage, and party.
12. Cultish aspects, highway vs. bumpy road:  “The demand on time, the demand for complete agreement (at one branch meeting we were told that we could disagree or question in private, but in public we needed to be unified in our dedication to the party line), opaqueness about finances (even as finance officer for my branch, getting an accounting from the Center (HQ) was impossible), and an ossified leadership.”

Part I (2)

13. “As a former member of the SEP in the United States, I experienced sexual harassment and political sabotage at the hands of my political mentor. I brought the issue to the attention of several comrades, including members of the NC, and the head of security. Since X was a “valuable comrade,” all allowances were made for him to try recovering from a sudden bout of mental anguish regarding childhood abuse he’d suffered. He alleged that the actions he took toward me were a delayed reaction and part of a “mental break.” ”
14. What makes X a valuable comrade? We want access to his bank records.
15. Blatant sabotage ignored. Nothing done.
16. X refused to take suggested break, continuing disruptive stalking and harrassment.
17. Schaefer forced to work with X after reporting behavior.
18. Essay, with bias against Leninism, concludes in favor of women reporting on abuses by leaders of leftist or revolutionary groups, especially within statute of limitations. The other side uses the courts, healy used tye courts to reclaim equipment from Banda.
19. North’s analysis considered fatuous because does not include enough detail about violence, abuse of women, or the Women’s Comission’s (organized by WRP members) findings.

Part II

20. Secret, oral non-disclosure agreement with S., during divorces of schaefer and s.

21. S. Invited by North prior to vote onto NC.

22. Congress robs members of votes through procedural, electoral fraud.

23. Experience from prev. Congress: Come to heel, or get out.

24. Unscientific, ahistorical, non-class, social-chauvinist approach to police brutality and racism.

25. Black Lives Matters given precedence by SEP over the SEP itself in mass protests over police brutality.

26. Same unscientific, ahistorical, non-class, social-chauvinist approach used in response to #metoo. (Racism and sexism disproportionately targets the poor. This is not an outcome of an unconscious process, but rather a conscious policy for which evidence exists.)

27. Knee-jerk rejection of identity politics as they define it. (They actually propose and defend a different identity, which is a the common identity, similar to the Trump supporter identity, of pro-american social chauvinism based on respect for the founding fathers and belief in the promise of a democratic republic founded on enlightenment principles. This social-chauvinist position sets them apart from social revolutionaries who recognize the economic foundations of the U.S. in the bloody genocide, land theft, dislocation, and cultural oppression of the native american tribes and nations, the genocide and slavery of Africans, and the abuses against the European poor who served in their armies, worked without compensation as indentured servants, and manned their factories while living in slums. A landed aristocracy in the South and a manufacturer, merchant, speculator class in the North, based on the wealth of fewer than 100 families dominated the entire country. Out of this inequality in the economy was not born a true democracy, but a racist state that consciously divided the poor by race, religion, and gender to maintain the dominance of the few, the masters of the bourgioes democracy.)

28. Question: which happened first, your sympathy for BLM or the sexual assault/harrassment/stalking by X? Is X the same person as S? Do they have any connection?

+

One response to “Note to Schaefer. Notes on Schaefer.”

  1. X and S are different people.
Timeline-wise the sexual harassment happened at about the same time as my sympathy for the working class involved in BLM (it is important to distinguish between those who march under that flag and the leadership of that movement – most are involved only so far as they agree with the call that “Black Lives Matter”. The SEP fails to make this distinction. They do the same with #metoo).

X had been my political mentor. Working in relative geographical isolation, we were the only party members in our area for some time. We had developed a friendship, until that day of the grabbing and forced kiss.

S is someone else entirely, now on the NC.

As I have said elsewhere, I do not intend to re-join the party, as as they stand now, I seriously doubt there is chance of redemption. While I write about them online, they have moved to a different place in my life. I still read Marx, Trotsky, et al, and am in agreement with their outlook. When I do think about those years, I do not *now* view them as wasted. I am in the process of drawing the lessons, after having been in a process of mourning. In the meantime, I write what I want (two novels so far, and poetry) and read what I want (We Cast a Shadow is a MUST).

I will make a more complete reply later (perhaps tonight, but it’s parade season here, so time slips away sometimes.
